Lyzzy Coultley
Vertebrate Paleontologist
EDUCATION
Lyzzy holds several degrees, including two Associate’s degrees in German Language and Anthropology from Los Angeles Valley College (2014), a Bachelor’s of Art in Physical Anthropology from California State University, Stanislaus (2019), and a Master’s of Science in Biology from California State University, Los Angeles (2022). They now attend the University of Oregon for their Ph.D. in Paleontology.

EXPERIENCE
Lyzzy worked at the Osteology lab at the California State University of Stanislaus under Dr. Sari Miller-Antonio, identifying, cleaning, and articulating modern mammal specimens, After graduating with their undergrad degree, they volunteered at La Brea Tar Pits and the Page Museum as a Gallery Interpreter, Fossil Preparator, and Excavator from 2016 – 2020. In the summer of 2018, they volunteered as a preparator at the Paleontology Lab at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. Starting in November 2020, Lyzzy worked as a field paleontologist for the mitigation company Cogstone Resource Management.
